More Emma

I added two more photos that I had taken of Emma on my phone.  Also, a link to watch her on television.

First Walk

Today I went on a hike with Emma, I picked Emma to hike with because she is good with everyone, but also ready for action at any time.  Emma is a 2 year old Pit Mix (otherwise known as a Pitbull or Staffordshire Terrier).  She has been at the Seattle Humane Society off and on for a while (because she isn't available for adoption I can't remember for how long).  I believe she has been in at least one foster home and now is hanging out because she is going to be a star tomorrow, more about that when I know more.

The plan was to hike to Cedar Butte, however the Iron Horse Trail was closed so I headed the other direction and ended up walking on a large, gravel road which headed towards Twin Falls.  It was much more of a walk than a hike, but the scenery was lovely and the weather was beautiful!

Emma couldn't have been better behaved, she didn't pull and happily wagged at everyone and everything that passed us by.  A few people seemed scared of her and two parents even told their kids to stop petting her as she sat and sweetly licked their hands (they had asked permission before approaching and petting her).  I definitely get a little upset when people stereotype, whether it is dogs, or people.  Here is a link with some information about breed-specific legislation.  Emma was a bit scared of the mountain bikes, I don't think she had ever seen one, but she was still a perfect lady and just jumped a bit when they surprised her.
All in all it was a good outing, we hiked about 10 miles for about 3 hours.  The only bad part of the day was dropping her off because she did not want to go back in her kennel and howled after I left.

I plan on adding more pictures and the link to her tv debut later this week.
